Getting Started With Your Plan.
This one day workshop is designed for individuals and/or their
family members who want to know how to get started with support
planning, either for themselves or on behalf of somebody else.
The objectives of this day are for participants to:
- Be introduced to an overview of the self-directed support
process and the part the support plan plays within that
process.
- Be introduced to the seven questions (criteria) required to be
met by a support plan.
- Be introduced to the support planning graphic and the support
planning cards as a technique to aid the development of the support
plan.
- Explore a number of different tools and techniques for support
planning.
- Explore some example support plans and consider how the
information in them meets the seven criteria for support
plans.
Who is it for?
Anyone interested in developing a support plan either for
themselves, or on behalf of somebody else, for example a family
member, local citizen leaders, advocates.
What will people know and be able to do as a result of attending
this course?
Participants will:
- Gain a deeper understanding of the process of enabling people
to use social care and support services by self-directing their
support and using personal budgets.
- Gain an understanding of the seven criteria which must be
present in a support plan.
- Consider examples of innovative and creative ways people can
use their Personal Budget.
- Be able to develop a robust support plan that meets the seven
criteria.
