An Introduction to Personalisation in Health

Personalisation is central to enabling people to be in control of their health and their life.

The development of a more personalised approach to health care has been a key policy driver for a number of years. With the changing landscape in health care, it is important to understand the significance and impact of personalisation on that landscape.

 

What does this course cover?

This is a one-day workshop, designed to give participants an introduction and overview of the personalisation agenda within health.

The objectives of this day are to:

  • Introduce people to the key aspects of the personalisation agenda in health, in its broadest sense.
  • Introduce participants to the personal health budget agenda and the learning from the Department of Health pilot work.
  • To explore the key role that personalised care planning plays within a more personalised health care and how to get started with that planning.

 

Who is it for?
Anyone who wants an introduction to the process of personalisation in health. This can include; individuals who use services, their family members or representatives and health care practitioners.

 

What will people know and be able to do as a result of attending this course?


Participants will:

  • Gain an understanding of the new process of enabling people to access health, social care and support services by self directing their support and using personal health budgets.
  • Gain an understanding of the essential criteria which must be present in a personalised care plan.
  • Experience using person centred thinking tools to create a personal care plan.
