The changing role of the health care practitioner within personal health budgets

Our experience has shown us that health care practitioners and those budget holders responsible for signing off support plans within the personal health budget process, need to be clear from the outset their role and responsibilities within such a process.

This one day workshop is designed to introduce health care practitioners, to the personal health budget process and their roles and responsibilities within that.

Our experience has shown us that health care practitioners and those budget holders responsible for signing off support plans within the personal health budget process, need to be clear from the outset their role and responsibilities within such a process.

 

The objectives of this workshop are for participants to:

  • To be clear about the how the process of offering a personal health budget is implemented locally.
  • Explore how personal health budgets can be introduced to new patients.
  • Explore a more person centred approach to assessment.
  • Explore how to contribute to the support planning process
  • To be clear about what should be in a support plan, including person centred health outcomes.
  • To be clear what people can and can't spend a personal health budget on.
  • Exploring what should be reviewed in relation to the personal health budget.

 

Who is it for?:

Any health care practitioners who work with people with long-term conditions and working within continuing health care, who wants to deepen their understanding of the process of personal health budgets.
