This one day workshop begins the development of a workforce strategy, which identifies and clearly outlines the training and support required to deliver the changes the personalisation agenda requires.

Successful implementation of the personalisation agenda requires a significant shift in thinking and practice by the social care workforce.

The process of developing a robust workforce strategy, which identifies and clearly outlines the training and support required to deliver the personalisation agenda begins with this one day workshop.

 

What does this course cover?


This one day workshop begins the development of a workforce strategy, which identifies and clearly outlines the training and support required to deliver the changes the personalisation agenda requires.

The objectives of this day are for participants to:

  • Be introduced to an overview of the 7 step process of self-directed support and understand where support planning and review processes lie within self-directed support.
  • Use a framework of best practice recommendations to develop a robust workforce development strategy which is responsive to the demands of the personalisation agenda.
  • Consider what roles are required to deliver the 7 step process.
  • Explore what skills and knowledge people will need to deliver in these roles.
  • To explore example workforce development strategies and consider how the information in them may inform the development of their local workforce.
  • Develop an action plan considering what it will take to implement the workforce development strategy within an agreed timeframe and for participants to commit to their immediate next steps.


Who is it for?


Strategic stakeholders/representation from all those involved in self-directed support/workforce development within the field of social care - practitioners, managers, finance, human resources. Also decision-makers with responsibilities for developing the workforce to meet the personalisation agenda for change, personalisation team members/champions and all other key decision makers who would authorise making decisions around workforce development andanyone from a senior management level.


What will people know and be able to do as a result of attending this course?


Participants will:

  • The Strategy will clearly outline your local vision and participants will be able to act on national best practice and immediately begin the process of implementing the robust action plan developed.

2 days - one day to facilitate and one day to co-write the strategy.
