Independent Facilitation

Independent Planning and Facilitation is done by a facilitator that is free from other agendas.

The facilitator is independent from service provision, funding allocation processes and decisions, and access centres or application entities that make decisions regarding services.

Independence…

  • allows facilitators to focus on the person and their hopes, dreams and goals (specific mission)
  • reduces issues of conflict of interest for the facilitator and service providers
  • allows for community focused outcomes

With independent facilitation also comes an expectation of, and commitment to, community development - working with and creating conversations with community places and services to develop inclusive places, shared principles, collaboration and creative responses.
